Interview

Why should I recruit you ?

To start, I think I have a really good mentality and I persevere. Any type of weather, I will never quit a training. All of the time, I give my best, it makes me feel good.
I started to run late, and I don’t really know where my limits are, but I want to push them to their furthest limits possible. I’m really motivated! I love running, for me it’s a necessity, it makes me happy! I also love the competition, it’s a way to meet other people, to surpass and challenge myself.
Moreover I’m a very organized person, I like to do things well. I believe that with patience and determination everything is possible.

Why do you want to compete at US Colleges?

I think it’s the best way to combine study and sport, something that is harder in France. Besides that, I want to train with a team. I believe this helps to push our limits and it’s a good motivation. However I generally train alone, so I’m used to it.
In the USA the density is higher and I believe the competition is less tactical than in France. In addition, I enjoy represent my club during the “interclub” so I would love to represent my school and go beyond my limits for it.

What do you want to achieve in Track/XC?

To start, I really want to try a different way of training, which will help me overcome my weak points.
In XC I want to give the best of myself with my team, to go the highest possible. I want to prove that I’m capable and that I’m enduring.
During the track season, I would like to improve my speed. I also want to test myself during indoor competition, something I never had the opportunity to do. I want to break my PB’s in 1500m & 3000m, and run faster than ever. In fact I want to become the best version of myself.

College and life goals?

Apart from the sport, my goal is to study hard. I love to learn and give my best at school. I’m very interested in law, so I would like to do a bachelor of international studies or criminal Justice.
I dream to discover the USA and their culture. I want to be happy and to blossom in a new environment. Furthermore I want to become fluent in English as I am in Portuguese.

Anything to add?

Last year (2018-2019) I did a cultural exchange, with Rotary, in Brazil. During this period I gained a lot of autonomy and I became a very open minded person. I know how difficult it can be to be far from the people we love, but I love challenges and I’m always ready for new adventures.
