Interview
Why should I recruit you ?

Saying that I’m motivated would probably be the easy and obvious answer that question but it would also be a not very helpful one and a classic way to elude that question and an inappropriate way to stand out from the crowd. Of course, I am, I’m willing to live my comfort zone and everything I build up during the past years in order to move forward, start again from the beginning and give the best out of me in this situation. Track but also XC took a really important place in my life as an athlete but also as a student, in regard of all those years I’ve been running I think my mental is my greatest ally in that field and helped me rising up again every time I fell down in order to be a better athlete. Because I believe in my choice, I believe I will change for the better in order to enhance as an athlete but also as me and all that thanks to your program.
Why do you want to compete at US Colleges?
Certainly, due to the background and the relation of the country in regard of sport and particularly track and field, it creates and provides the best environments in order to give the best out of us and succeed as a student/athlete. Unfortunately, that’s something I can not find back in France. Moreover, the team spirit in the U.S is also something very inspiring and motivating as an athlete, in fact it brings out the fact that Track and field is not simply working as an individual. Nonetheless I still believe being self-centered as a competitor
is important.
What do you want to achieve in Track/XC?

I want to be a more polyvalent athlete as I’m interested by the 400m/1500m/Mile and XC while still staying an 800m runner. I want to keep pushing limits that I believe do not really exist, perform as a team and of course as an individual in order to bring the best out of me to that team. My short/mid term goal is to first break the 1:50 barrier on the 800m. I’m also getting more and more interested in longer distance as XC, it helped me building up for the track season. Looking a bit further my dream is to wear the color of my country.

College and life goals?

I’m currently studying in the field of sport a field that I’m obviously passionate about. As I said before, considering the background and the relation of the U.S regarding sports there were no better place than coming in the U.S to study and get the best experience. One of my life goals is always to move on and not to stay on my position. I’m trying to get the best out of every situation in order to live to the fullest.

Anything to add ?
This might not play in my favor but the injuries that stepped in front of me during past years were only a way for me to stand back up stronger and not making the same mistakes again.
